the short version: your reading history is yours
What we keep
- Your email address, to sign you in.
- Your age range (adult or 14 to 17) and country, to keep picks age-appropriate and send buy links to stores near you.
- The books in the export you import, your taste profile, the picks you get, and the notes and ratings you leave.
- Which store links you tap, so we can count clicks.
Who sees it
- Only you can see your reading history and profile.
- Your reading card is public to anyone with its link. It shows your reader type, three taste lines, a few numbers and three five-star titles, never your full history. Readers under 18 never have a name on their card.
- To write your profile and picks, your book list and your question are sent to Anthropic's Claude API. Anthropic does not use this data to train its models.
- Book lookups go to Open Library with the book title and author only, never anything about you.
- We never sell your data and never use it for ads.
Buy links
Some buy links are affiliate links: if you buy, the store pays us a small commission at no cost to you. Stores may set their own cookies when you visit them. Commissions never influence which books the librarian recommends. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.
Your choices
- Strike any line from your taste profile. The librarian will stop using it.
- Ask for a copy of your data, or for your account and everything in it to be deleted, by writing to privacy@nextpages.app.
- Next Pages is for readers 14 and up.
